Users should follow this guide to reset their elevated (local admin / domain admin) account credentials, or claim their account.
Password Reset/Claiming Process
(you'll need this to install software on your local machine and/or perform elevated actions)
- Connect to your Amazon Workspace instance with your standard Active Directory user account.
- Navigate to the menu bar at the top of your screen, select View -> Send Ctrl + Alt + Delete, and use the "Change a password" tool in windows.
- Enter your elevated account username and old password/one-time password, and specify a new secure password for the account.
*Password policy: Minimum of 14 characters with at least one upper and lower case letter, and a number or special character. Example: My car is red!
Success! You have now reset/claimed your account. You will be notified via email every 90 days to reset this account password.
