This guide should be used to create a new user in MOVEit Transfer, our SFTP application.
Enter the User Information
- Log in to SFTP by going to: https://secure.phtech.com
- Search for the organization domain to view how they name their accounts, ie @co.clackamas.or.us
- Click the Add New User button.
- Type in the User Information.
- Email Notifications should be set to: On.
- Permissions should be set too: User.
Authentication Method
- If the user is not an employee of Ayin, Authentication should be set to MOVEit Only.
- ALWAYS let MOVEit email a "set password" link with instructions to EXTERNAL users.
- Do not email passwords to external users unless you utilize #phi# in the subject line when sending.
- If the User is an employee of Ayin, Authentication should be set to External Only.
- If you are cloning a user, you will need to copy/paste this EXACT string into the Home Folder field: /home/Users/[USERNAME]
Group Membership
- Under Group Membership, add the groups the user needs to be in by highlighting each group.
- You can use Ctrl-click to select multiple groups.
- Click Add User.
