Use this guide to create an SSH account in MOVEit (SFTP).
Create the SSH Account
- Login to SFTP (secure.phtech.com)
- Add user info:
- Username
- Full Name
- Email Address
- Email Notifications: On
- Permission: User
- Authentication Method: MOVEit Only
- Password Delivery: Set password now
- Use Suggested Password (you will NOT email this to the client)
- Un-Check: Force user to change password at first login
- Home Folder: leave as default: "/home/Users/[USERNAME]"
- Add notes : CompanyX SSH Account
- Add group membership: CompanyX
Update User Profile Settings
User Authentication
Password > Change Password
- Password Aging Policy: Exempt
- Change Password Permissions
Prohibit user from requesting automatic password changes
Yes (this prevents user from logging into an SSH account with a standard username/password)
SSH Server > SSH Policy
- SSH Client Key Required: Yes
User Settings
Default Folder > Change Default Folder
- In the search box, type the name of the entity/organization and click "Change Default Folder"
- Select the folder that corresponds to the name of the entity/organization
(This will help the entity/organization by making this folder the very first folder they see when connecting with their SSH client or automated process)
You can now follow procedures to import the client provided public SSH key.
